You know from your own experience: the best measuring system is one that is highly user-friendly, providing the best means, too, for achieving optimum results. With ENVISLog, IMKO can put a powerful tool at your disposal for large-scale environmental measurement projects * using a PC with MS-Windows as a Datalogger (with mains power supply!). ENVISLog can be easily adapted and deployed. The decentralized configuration assures clear and precise measurement data acquisition.
User-friendly in all applications ENVISLog is an exceedingly efficient and easy-to-use program for the acquisition of measurement data from TRIME sensors and IMP-bus modules. ENVISLog assures problem-free system configuration. All that has to be done to define the measurement task is to stipulate the measuring pulse frequencies and dependencies. Once the dependencies have been defined, data acquisition then acts dynamically. Hence, if, for example, some form of precipitation occurs, for example, the measuring pulse frequency of the soil-moisture sensors can be increased automaticaly.
Network Protection ENVISLog can be run on MS-Windows computers locally and as a client/server by means of remote data transmission (ISDN-/GSM modem). The IMP modules‘ parameters are set directly on location. For remote operation the software is run as a server at the measurement point and as a client at the place of operation. Several clients can be installed at a variety of operating locations. Communication between measuring point and operating location takes place via a single channel. For this reason only one client at a time can communicate with the server at the measuring point.
Client/Server Communication A client can communicate with a variety of servers. To do so, the connection to the appropriate server is defined via a server identifier. Various paths of communication can be used for communication between the client and server. These options are presented below.

| *The largest ENVIS project (University of Göttingen) has been running for a number of years in the Solling-Roof-Project where up to 200 sensors are networked over sensor distances up to 5 kilometers (www.imko.de “projects”) |

| System configuration according to plan |
Systematic configuration After starting the program ENVISLog, the following interface appears. All the measurement data-acquisition functions are set out here. The main window comprises a toolbar, the group server, the configuration and measurement data index card, the group module list and the status bar. The special merit of this structure and grouping is the simple, clear and easily learnt operation. |
 |
 |
The group module list / module info Communication to the measuring circuit commences by pressing the connect button. If the connection is successful, all the groups in the main window are activated. Information relating to each of the modules present in the measuring circuit and set out in the module list are displayed in the group module info. In the adjacent example, all the relevant parameters of the SM-HYGRO module are shown by selecting the module no. 1719 |
